Rudy Giovannini

Rudy Giovannini (born November 18, 1966 in Bolzano as Rudi Giovannini ) is a South Tyrolean tenor and singer. As a classical singer he appears under the stage name Rodolfo Giovannini .

biography

He completed his classical singing training at the Conservatories of Bolzano and Verona and with Maestro Arrigo Pola in Modena , who was also the teacher of Luciano Pavarotti .

Giovannini celebrated his breakthrough in 2000 when he immediately achieved third place with the title Amore, Amore at the Grand Prix of Folk Music as a newcomer. He was able to repeat this success in Merano in 2002 with Donna della Raspa .

He achieved the greatest success of his career in 2006 when he won the Grand Prix of Folk Music accompanied by Belsy and the Coro Monti Pallidi in Munich with the song Salve Regina . All three South Tyrolean ethnic groups were involved in the success: Giovannini is German as his mother tongue, Belsy speaks Ladin (born in India and adopted by a family in Val Gardena), the choir, like himself, comes from Laives and consists mainly of Italians. It was the fourth victory in South Tyrol and the third victory in a row at the Grand Prix of Folk Music .
