The Coro Monti Pallidi is an internationally known Italian male choir that is mainly dedicated to folk music . Its headquarters are in Laives , South Tyrol .

history

The choir was born in Auer in November 1967 on the initiative of Sergio Maccagnan . It was founded by Sergio Maccagnan , who was its director until January 1, 2005 . He first met in Branzoll , but the headquarters were soon moved to Laives .

Paolo Maccagnan , Sergio's son, has been a choirmaster since 2005 .

During the Grand Prix of Folk Music 2006 , the Coro Monti Pallidi accompanied the beloved Rudy Giovannini together with Belsy : they won the final with the song Salve Regina . All three South Tyrolean ethnic groups contributed to the success: Giovannini is German as his mother tongue, Belsy speaks Ladin (born in India and adopted by a family from Val Gardena), the choir consists mainly of Italians.
