Sigrid & Marina are a singing duo from the field of popular hits .

The sisters Sigrid (born April 9, 1981 in Gmunden ) and Marina Hutterer (born August 12, 1984 in Gmunden) come from the Salzkammergut in Upper Austria . Sigrid Hutterer learned the profession of bank clerk, her sister that of commercial clerk. Both were originally under contract with the Austrian record company MCP Sound & Media, now with hofbauer music.

Career

From 1990 the sisters received lessons in guitar, keyboard and singing.

In 1998 they took part in a talent competition, and a year later the first single CD was released, Freu Dich auf Morgen . Appearances on radio and television of ORF followed . Further CD singles were released in 2000 ( The song that summer sings ) and 2001 ( A new day is coming soon ). In the same year the duo took part for the first time for Austria in the Grand Prix of Folk Music and achieved 5th place in the preliminary decision with the song Soon comes a new day . In 2002 they achieved 2nd place in the MDR annual hit parade with Achim's Musikantenkaiser with the song Wir hab'n die Buam . Her first music album, My Heart Longs For Love , was released in 2004.

In their second participation in the Grand Prix of Folk Music , the duo reached 6th place in the Austrian qualifying with the title Dreams Never Die . A year later, with Let's Enjoy Life, they again achieved 5th place in the Austrian preliminary decision for the Grand Prix of Folk Music .

2007 Sigrid & Marina were finally together with the Zillertal Haderlumpen with the song Everything has two sides to the Grand Prix of Folk Music win for Austria. Since then, they have appeared frequently in numerous television broadcasts of folk music and folk music throughout the German-speaking area. B. at shows by Marianne and Michael , in the Musikantenstadl , at the Melodies of the Mountains , Always again on Sundays , Hansi Hinterseer , When the Musi is playing , Krone der Volksmusik , the festival show by Florian Silbereisen as well as in numerous other programs in German-speaking countries. In addition, they complete well over 100 performance dates and concerts per year. Several of the duo's recordings achieved gold status (see below).
