The Psayrer are a singing formation from the field of popular hits . The group comes from St. Leonhard in Passeier in South Tyrol . Current members are Klaus Gurschler (band leader, vocals, guitar, ukulele), his brother Johannes Gurschler, alias Jonny (accordion, keyboard, trumpet, guitar, electric guitar), and Roland Schwarz (accordion, keyboard, baritone, guitar, bass guitar) as well as the singer Sandra Möller from Bavaria.

history

On December 31, 1978, a group called "Pseirer Nachtschwärmer" appeared in public for the first time in South Tyrol, in which, in addition to Klaus (vocals and guitar) and Jonny (accordion and keyboard), Josef Ennemoser alias Joe (bass guitar) also played. After a few years Leo Zipperle (drums) joined them. In the period that followed, the group made several appearances in South Tyrol and partly in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. The first releases in the music sector included two country CDs under the name Timmel-Truck . Over the years Leo Zipperle left and his place on the drums was never taken up again.

In the summer of 1996, the Pseirer night owls received the "Golden Microphone" and the first television appearances followed. The name of the band was changed to "Psayrer". In 1998 Josef Ennemoser also left, and Peter Santoni alias Fix, who also played the guitar and keyboard, took his place on the bass. Several CDs followed and in the summer of 1999 the first major success Ukulele Ukulele .

In 2000, the Psayrer for South Tyrol took part in the Grand Prix of Folk Music for the first time and achieved 9th place at the international event in Zurich with the title I am a South Tyrolean Cowboy .

In 2002, she took the title Sommertraum together with the Tscharser trumpeter Franz Raffeiner as Franz and Psayrer again at the Grand Prix of folk music in part, had then not to get enough points to again reach the final, this time it took place in Merano.

In 2003 Klaus Gurschler, band leader of the Psayrer, organized the Grand Prix of brass music with participating brass bands from Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium and South Tyrol. The group presented their video clip Andreas Hofer .

In 2004 the group took 6th place in the South Tyrolean preliminary decision for the Grand Prix of Folk Music with the title Mutters Augen, Muttershand . In 2005 the Psayrer and Barbara were finally able to win the Grand Prix of Folk Music for South Tyrol with the title Mountains in Fire . They were accompanied by the singer Barbara Dorfer. She then started a solo career. Sandra Sofie Möller (born June 22, 1974 in Rosenheim ) was hired as the new singer . Peter Santoni also left in 2007, for him came the new bass player Roland Schwarz alias Blacky, who works as a music teacher and lives alternately in Munich and in the Passeiertal. Roland Schwarz is also responsible for the accordion, keyboard, guitar and baritone that he plays on the song "Ein Prosit der Gemütlichkeit (Psayrer Version)" . The song itself was released in 2008.

The group has since appeared on various television and radio programs.
