The Dominican Convent Regensburg is a convent of the Dominican Sisters in Regensburg in Bavaria in the Diocese of Regensburg .
history
The monastery consecrated to the Holy Cross was founded in 1233 and was not abolished in the course of secularization . It escaped repeal in 1803 through the establishment of a girls' school and still exists today.
Formations in America
In 1853 sisters were sent to America by the then prioress, mother Maria Benedicta Bauer. Today there are a total of 12 American congregations, whose origin is the Dominican convent Heilig Kreuz in Regensburg.
