Oesch's die third are a Swiss folk music group from Schwarzenegg in the Bernese Oberland , which consists of Hansueli and Annemarie Oesch, their children Melanie, Kevin and Mike and the accordionist Urs Meier.

history

The family tradition as folk musician began with Hans Oesch's Trio Oesch. Son Hansueli continued it. Together with the three children of the third generation, they then called themselves Oesch's die third .

As early as the 1990s, the children performed with their parents. At the end of the 90s they had their first appearances on regional and national television and recorded their first CD. In 2001 they made several appearances in the United States. Your breakthrough in German-speaking countries came in 2007: you represented Switzerland in the young talent competition at the Musikantenstadl and won by a clear margin. From then on, they were regular guests in various folk music programs on television and at large folk music events. At the Silvesterstadl 2007 they won the Stadlstern 2007 . At the Grand Prix of Folk Music in 2008 they came third with Die Jodelssprache .

At the end of 2007, Oesch's Die Third published the album Jodelzauber , which stayed in the Swiss charts for months and has since been awarded double platinum . A year later it was followed by Frech • Frisch • Yodelling, which went gold and platinum within a short time . In addition, the albums Folk Music is INternational , Jodel-Time and Roots and Wings were also awarded gold.

In October 2008, it won Ku-Ku Jodel in the SF-1 telecast The biggest Swiss Hits 2008 in the category "Homeland & wanderlust" and moved into the final of the five category winners, which they decided on November 30 itself. The yodelling song also made it into the Swiss singles charts. It was composed by Peter Hinnen .
