The Edlseer are an Austrian folk music group from Birkfeld in Styria . The band was founded in 1990 as Edlseer Spatzen , in 1993 it was re-established as the Edlseer Trio, from which the current name emerged.
Their breakthrough came with the song Madonna Mia from their 1997 album Jung, zunftig, super drauf .
Grand Prix of Folk Music Placements
For the first time the group took part in the Grand Prix of Folk Music 2000 and achieved 6th place for Austria with Weil ia Schürzenjäger bin . At the Grand Prix of Folk Music 2001 they appeared together with the Zellberg Buam and achieved 4th place with Edlziller Partyknüller . With the title I stay with folk music at the Grand Prix of Folk Music 2004 , they took 6th place. Together with Die Stoakogler at the Grand Prix of Folk Music 2006 they achieved 4th place with the title A Musikant im Trachteng'wand .
