Josef Prokopetz (called Joesi , pronounced "Tschosi"; born March 13, 1952 in Vienna ) is an Austrian songwriter , musician , author , actor and cabaret artist .

Life

In 1969 Prokopetz began to write the first texts, still privately. In 1971 he became known for his text for the Wolfgang Ambros hit Da Hofa . Further successes as a copywriter for Ambros such as Long live the Central Cemetery followed. In 1974 Prokopetz wrote the alpine drama Der Watzmann calls together with Ambros and Manfred diving , which was very successful as a musical radio play and as a stage play.

Prokopetz was a co-founder, musician and songwriter of the NDW group DÖF . Together with Manfred diving , Annette Humpe and Inga Humpe , DÖF had international success in 1983 with the song Codo… düse im Sauseschritt .

In the mid-80s, Prokopetz was also able to record successes as a solo artist for a short time in Austria and achieved with Are you single? Number 1 on the charts. Other successes were Na guat daun net and no parking .

As a copywriter, he created the early 1980s with his advertising company Der Plan Prokopetz & Dr. Martschitsch GesmbH (concept, text and art direction with three employees) the advertising slogan "Lustig samma - Puntigamer", which is still known today .

With a resolution of December 18, 2008 Prokopetz was awarded the Austrian professional title “Professor” .

Prokopetz has been director of the Ybbsiade since 2015 . In this position he succeeded Alexander Goebel , who had held the position since 2013. In 2015 he could be seen in One Night in Venice at the Mörbisch Sea Festival .
