Seer (read: "Se-er") is a band from Austria . It was founded in 1996 and comes from Grundlsee in the Styrian part of the Salzkammergut .

history

After the separation of the pop band Joy and a short solo appearance as Freddy Jay , Alfred Jaklitsch started a music project that combined elements of traditional folk music and modern pop music. In 1995 he put on 100 maxi CDs in his own production, which were sold at a profit. The band Seer was officially founded in 1996 , the debut album Über'n See followed in the same year.

Since then , the Seer have been particularly successful in their home country . In 2002 the album Junischnee was released , which stayed in the Austrian charts for a total of 112 weeks and has meanwhile received three platinum awards for 90,000 albums sold in Austria. In 2003, the band received the Amadeus Austrian Music Award in the category Pop / Rock national group for June snow , followed by the Amadeus Award in the Schlager category in 2009 . At the Amadeus Austrian Music Award 2016 they were again awarded in the Schlager category. In March 2016 they were honored with the Great Josef Krainer Prize .
