Amadeus Awards 2016
The 16th presentation of the Amadeus Austrian Music Award took place on April 3, 2016 in the Volkstheater in Vienna . The nominations were announced on January 28, 2016.
Nomination and election
The nominees were determined from a jury evaluation by a jury made up of around 120 representatives from the music and media industry and sales in 2015, with the two evaluations being included equally in the overall ranking. The duo Seiler and Speer was nominated six times, Wanda and Bilderbuch five times each.
Compared to the previous year, the genre categories Pop / Rock, Schlager and Folk Music were added.
Wanda won prizes in three categories, two awards each went to Seiler & Speer and Bilderbuch . Parov Stelar won an Amadeus for the fifth time in a row, for the fourth time in the Electronic / Dance category . As in the previous year, Conchita Wurst was named artist of the year , Skero received his third Amadeus.

As in the previous year, the award ceremony was moderated by Manuel Rubey and Arabella Kiesbauer . The event was broadcast on ATV and FM4 . The artists who created the musical supporting program at the award ceremony included Conchita Wurst , Sarah Connor , Gregor Meyle , Parov Stelar , The Baseballs & Poxrucker Sisters , Zoë Straub , Wanda , Norbert Schneider , Hannah and Schmieds Puls .

FM4 Award
For the FM4 Award, five candidates were determined by online voting until February 18, 2016, with 25 candidates being available for selection. A second voting round with the five remaining finalists took place up to March 1, 2016, and the winner of the FM4 Award 2016 was announced on March 1.
