Steaming Satellites is an Austrian band from Salzburg . In 2014 the band was nominated for the Amadeus Austrian Music Award in the Best Video category.

history

The debut album "Neurotic Handshake at the Local Clown Party" was released in 2006. Musically, the band, which initially formed as a quartet, but later temporarily became a trio and now operates as a quartet again, is most likely the spacerock or in general the Classify indie rock .

After the EP "Karate Party" in 2008, the band was after a joint show from Portugal. The Man invited as opening act on their European tour. Further tours followed as support for The Builders and the Butchers , Eagle Seagull and Hello Electric, among others . In addition, steaming satellites also gave some support shows for B. Thin Lizzy , Therapy? , The Raveonettes and many others.

In 2012, "The Mustache Mozart Affaire" was their second album on the Hoanzl label . While Steaming Satellites made numerous festival appearances in Austria and Germany in 2012, the musicians were already working on the follow-up album "Slipstream", which was released in 2013 on The Instrument Village label.

The Steaming Satellites have been performing as a quartet at concerts since 2014 and are supported by the old member Manfred Mader, who is now a permanent member of the band again and is also involved in the production of the 2015 album "Steaming Satellites".
