Krautschädl was an Austrian rock band from Wels . The group played alternative rock with strong influences from funk , ska and metal , while the lyrics were performed in the Upper Austrian dialect .
biography
In the spring of 2004 the band began to give concerts. A year later a demo CD was recorded. Krautschädl later recorded an album that was re-recorded in autumn 2005 after signing a contract with the major label Sony BMG . A video for the song Zeit zum Denga was also shot, which was also shown on gotv . The album was released under the name Krautschädl in March 2006. In May 2007, the successor Im Kraut was released , which was briefly commercially successful in Austria. Two videos were shot for the album Im Kraut , one for An Woiza and the other for S'Bäckerschupferl . The two videos were shot by the SunProjectStudios in Pettenbach. The Schupf die Schädla tour took Krautschädl through Austria and Germany in 2008.
In February 2012 the band took part in the song contest of Ö3 with Einsturzgefohr bei Österreich rockst . In May 2012, Krautschädl received the Amadeus Austrian Music Award 2012 in the "Hard & Heavy" category. The album Immer mit da Ruhe was released in 2015 .
With their open letter to singer Andreas Gabalier in 2018, the band took a very critical political stance on issues such as home, nationalism and upbringing. Gabalier made an indirect statement on this in an interview a few months later when he appealed to the media: "Don't give every Krautschädl that no one has known before a platform just because they don't like the bad, bad Gabalier."
In 2019 they are on a farewell tour, on August 31 they should play their last concert. As part of the Amadeus Awards 2019 , they were awarded in the Hard & Heavy category.
