Amadeus Awards 2020
The 20th presentation of the Amadeus Austrian Music Award is to take place on September 10, 2020 as part of a television broadcast on ORF 1 . The nominations for the FM4 Award were announced on February 3, 2020, the nominations in the other categories on February 18, 2020.
The award ceremony was originally supposed to take place on April 23, 2020, but the award ceremony has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Austria . At the end of April 2020, the event planned for September 10, 2020 in the Wiener Stadthalle was also canceled, instead there will be a TV show on ORF1.
Nomination and event
Bilderbuch as well as Seiler and Speer received nominations in four categories each, followed by RAF Camora and Pizzera & Jaus with three nominations each. Wanda , Voodoo Jürgens , Lou Asril, Buntspecht , Yasmo & die Klangkantine, DJ Ötzi , Mathea and Melissa Naschenweng were nominated in two categories .
The award ceremony is to be broadcast on ORF 1 and presented by Conchita Wurst . In addition to the highlights from twenty years of the Amadeus Awards, Amadeus Music Sessions will include performances by Willi Resetarits and Wenzel Beck, Pizzera & Jaus , Julian le Play and Toksi, Voodoo Jürgens , Conchita Wurst and Lou Asril, Melissa Naschenweng , My Ugly Clementine , Ina Regen , Anger , Hunney Pimp, KeKe , Shen and Svaba Ortak .
Andreas Gabalier criticized the Amadeus Awards and called it a poor testimony that he was not nominated in the live act of the year category.

FM4 Award
For the FM4 Award, five candidates were determined by online voting until February 11, 2020, with 20 candidates being available for selection. The five nominees were announced on February 18, 2020. A second voting round with the five remaining finalists took place until March 13, 2020.
