Buntspecht is a six-member Austrian indie pop band from Vienna .
history
From 2016 they made a name for themselves with performances beyond their hometown of Vienna. They made their first recordings themselves in an improvised studio in a garden shed and released them on the Phat Penguin Records label . With the debut album Most Small Things they already attracted more attention in 2018 and appearances followed in some cities in Germany.
The second album Draußen im Kopf followed in 2019 , which was also produced independently, but under more professional conditions. They made it into the top 10 of the Austrian album charts . Their music is described as indie pop with influences from gypsy swing , bossa nova , Wienerlied and folk .
