Seiler und Speer is an Austrian band that has consisted of comedian and actor Christopher Seiler and filmmaker Bernhard Speer since 2014.
Band history
The two artists started working together in 2014 when Christopher Seiler's shift change series was launched. Bernhard Speer was already acting as producer and director. Christopher Seiler was playing his first cabaret performances and wanted to add music to them.
The lifelike texts caricature various everyday situations in a humorous way. From the initial fun project, the debut album Ham Kummst , which was awarded a gold record for 7,500 units sold in October 2015 and went platinum in December of that year, was a mixture of romance, everyday comedy and popular tunes in the meantime, musical seriousness. In June 2016 the album was awarded 4 times platinum.
On October 3, 2015, they performed the solidarity concert for asylum seekers Voices for Refugees in front of around 100,000 people on Heldenplatz in Vienna .
The single Ham kummst stayed at number one in the Ö3 Austria Top 40 for five weeks and entered the German charts in January 2016 . The associated YouTube video has over 39 million views (as of 2020).
For the Amadeus Austrian Music Award 2016 they were nominated in the categories of Band of the Year , Album of the Year , Song of the Year , Live Act of the Year , Songwriter of the Year and the genre category Pop / Rock . They were honored as songwriter of the year and for song of the year .
On April 7, 2017, the second studio album Und weida? published and was awarded gold just three days later in Austria and stayed there for two weeks at number 1 in the Ö3 Austria Top 40 .
On September 16, 2017, Seiler and Speer finished their Austria tour in Ried im Innkreis .
On April 1, 2019 the single "Herr Inspektor" was released, which is also included on the third studio album Forever , which was released on July 26, 2019. As part of the Amadeus Awards 2019 , they were awarded in the Pop / Rock category.
Spear accident
On the night of October 11, 2017, Drunk Bernhard Speer crashed his VW bus into a pillar of an overhead signpost near Kottingbrunn . Speer, who was initially in mortal danger, was brought to the State Hospital in Wiener Neustadt around one in the morning with serious injuries . On October 20, 2017, he and his management announced via Facebook that, according to the treating doctors, he could become fully fit again, "even if it may take a while". The Germany tour planned for November and December 2017 had to be canceled. From April 7, 2018, Seiler and Speer were back on stage together in Austria and Germany, for example at the Nova Rock Festival in June 2018.

Horvathsless
Anton Horvath is a fictional character portrayed by Christopher Seiler. Mr. Horvath is a mentally confused, always drunk unemployed troublemaker . He believes people respect him, but is ridiculed by most and considered a fool. 'Horvathslos' is a play on words with the dialect word 'oawatslos' (unemployed). Since the protagonist is called Anton Horvath, it can also be read as Horvath's lot (his fate). There are now four seasons on DVD.
