Amadeus Awards 2009
The 10th presentation of the Amadeus Austrian Music Award took place on September 10th, 2009 in the Vienna MuseumsQuartier in Vienna . The award ceremony was moderated by Michael Ostrowski . The event was at 22:15 in the transmitter pulse 4 transmitted. The musical supporting program was provided by Christina Stürmer , Fatima Spar & the Freedom Fries , Andreas Gabalier , Kamp & Whizz Vienna , The Sorrow , die Seer , Kreisky , Vera and Bunny Lake . There was also a performance by a Hansi Lang tribute band consisting of companions of the musician Hansi Lang , who died in 2008 and whose life's work was honored posthumously.
Nomination and election
Musicians and bands or their publications that came onto the market between January 1st and December 31st, 2008 or had at least one live performance could be nominated. The prerequisite was that the artists had their center of life in Austria or were Austrian citizens. The nominations were made by various juries, which consisted of a total of 134 members from the music sector. The winners were determined in an online voting.
