Dorian Concept (actually: Oliver Thomas Johnson; born September 16, 1984 in Vienna ) is an Austrian composer and music producer.

Live and act

The son of a Viennese and an American grew up in the Austrian capital. He studied at the media college in Salzburg. He is self-taught on the piano , bass guitar and saxophone . Youtube publications made him known internationally from 2007. He refuses to read music and is a consistent representative of improvised music . He describes himself as "a self-taught jazz musician who samples himself".

First he was a member of the funk band JSBL for a few years together with Cid Rim and The Clonious . With his first, jazzy solo album When Planets Explode , he was in the traditional line of Aphex Twin or Squarepusher . In contrast, the 2014 album Joined Ends from the renowned London record label Ninja Tune is improvised, relaxed chillout music on the electric piano . Due to international demand in Japan and North America, he went on a solo world tour. The improviser was a sought-after sideman for Flying Lotus and the British Cinematic Orchestra .
