Ninja Tune is a London independent label .

History and direction

The label was founded in 1990 by members of the Coldcut group ( Matt Black and Jonathan More ). It is known for its cross-genre publications and has achieved a worldwide cult status over the years through the signing of very individual and innovative artists .

Despite many different styles from areas such as downbeat , breakbeat , hip-hop , trip-hop , easy listening or experimental electro , the label bears a certain signature and is seen by many as an almost independent genre .

Other fields of work

Ninja Tune runs the sub-labels N-Tone (specializing in experimental electronic music ) and Big Dada (specializing in alternative hip-hop ), Brainfeeder (specializing in electronic music), and Werkdisks (specializing in techno ).

Another artist platform of the label is the Solid Steel project , which has stood for the radio program of the same name, various live events and mix CD releases since 1988.
