This drew the attention of the London independent label Ninja Tune , which signed him for the sub-label N-Tone . The EPs Finkfunk (1997) and Front Side Blunt Side (1998) were released there under the pseudonym Fink .

In 2001 he made his solo debut with the album Fresh Produce , which struck much calmer rhythm and blues tones and thereby set itself apart from the productions of the other artists at Ninja Tune . This followed with little enthusiasm recorded change of style Greenall but only later on and devoted himself meantime especially his dancefloor -Nebenprojekt Sideshow at Simple Records . It was not until the album Biscuits for Breakfast , which was released by Ninja Tune in 2006 , that his style, which was based on blues and acoustic guitar playing, solidified and made Fink heard by a wider audience.

After Nitin Sawhney him for a joint appearance at the BBC festival Electric Proms could engage Fink inspired more and more for live performances: He participated in other festivals ( Big Chill , Fruit floor , Bestival ) and toured as support for Zero 7 by Great Britain. For Bonobo's album Days to Come (2006) he contributed the track If You Stayed Over ; and with Tim Bidwell from Hardkandy and Elliot Richards from Heels Catch Fire he founded the record label Folklaw Records in the same year .

For Distance and Time , his album released on October 1, 2007 on Ninja Tune , he won Andy Barlow of Lamb as producer. This Is the Thing was released as the first single in advance . On June 13, 2011, his studio album Perfect Darkness was also released by Ninja Tune . This was followed by two live albums, which essentially consist of the Perfect Darkness material, 2012 Wheels Turn Beneath My Feet in the classic trio line-up and 2013 Fink meets the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra together with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. Hard Believer , Fink's 5th studio album, was released in early July 2014. It was recorded in the Soundfactory Studio in Hollywood, most of the lyrics were written in Berlin. Fin Grenall has been living in Berlin-Kreuzberg for some time , after being frequently booked as a DJ by clubs in the city.
