Flanger is a German music project whose music can be assigned to the field of electronica in the broadest sense . The founding members are the musicians Uwe Schmidt (Atom Heart) and Bernd Friedmann (Burnt Friedman).

history

Friedmann and Schmidt got to know each other at a festival in Cologne in 1996 and decided to start a music project that exclusively uses the instruments Fender Rhodes , electric bass and drums .

The musicians produced their first album Templates in 1998 in Schmidt's studio in Santiago de Chile. It was released in 1999 by the Ninja Tune sub- label NTone . The two following albums were also released on NTone and Ninja Tune.

The so far last album by the duo Spirituals was released in 2005 on Friedmann's own label Nonplace .

In 2007 the first two albums were re-released as a bundle with an additional remix under the name Nuclear Jazz .
