Coldcut
Coldcut is a British music producer duo , consisting of Matt Black and Jonathan More, who have been making eurodance , electro and techno music in England since the late 1980s . Black and More are also remixers and pioneers of turntablism .
Band history
Her most commercially successful singles were her UK top 10 hits Doctorin 'the House and The Only Way is Up (as "The Plastic Population") with Yazz and People Hold On and My Telephone with Lisa Stansfield . Their remix of Paid in Full by Eric B. & Rakim became a world hit thanks to the sample of Ofra Hazas Im Nin'alu .
In the 1990s and early 2000s, they were also members of the DJ Food music project, along with the DJs PC and Strictly Kev .
The Coldcut team also worked with Sister Bliss and founded the Ninja Tune label . Black and More are still popular DJs today .
An instrumental version of Walk a Mile in My Shoes was used in advertising clips for the cellular network provider O 2 and is currently still on hold.
In 2020, Coldcut released music with the Afro-Funk project Keleketla !, which they founded with mostly South African musicians. British jazz musicians such as Shabaka Hutchings and Nigerian drummer Tony Allen were also involved in it.
