Amadeus Awards 2017
The 17th presentation of the Amadeus Austrian Music Award took place on May 4, 2017 in the Volkstheater in Vienna . The nominations for the FM4 Award were announced on February 16, the nominations in the remaining categories on February 27, 2017. The award ceremony was broadcast on ORF eins with a time delay. The winners of the eight genre categories were published on April 19, 2017.
Nomination and election
Voodoo Jürgens and Julian le Play each received five nominations, Andreas Gabalier and Lemo each received four nominations, three nominations went to the Seer and the Duo Pizzera & Jaus , two nominations went to AVEC , Bilderbuch , Christina Stürmer , Granada , Hannah , Leyya , Mavi Phoenix , Nik P. , the Nockalm Quintet , Seiler and Speer , Thorsteinn Einarsson and Wanda .
The Duo Pizzera & Jaus was awarded in two categories, as was Julian Le Play and Picture Book. Christina Stürmer received her eleventh award.

The award ceremony was moderated by Manuel Rubey and Riem Higazi . In addition to James Blunt and Amy Macdonald , Christina Stürmer, Bilderbuch, Julian le Play, Lemo, Die Seer & Wilfried, Voodoo Jürgens and Leyya were among the artists who designed the musical framework program at the award ceremony . Ö3 presenter Thomas Kamenar chauffeured Austrian musicians to the award show and talked to them about the local music scene.

For the FM4 Award, five candidates were determined by online voting until February 23, 2017, with 20 candidates being available for selection. This was followed by a second round of voting with the five remaining finalists.
