Patrick Pulsinger (* 1970 in Weißenfels ) is a music producer , DJ and record label operator. He lives and works in Austria in Kumpitz (Styria) and Vienna . In addition to his involvement in electronic music , various musical collaborations and the production of several film soundtracks , his special focus is on jazz and improvisation music .

life and work

Pulsinger, who was born in the GDR in 1970 , moved to Styria in Austria with his mother in 1980 . From 1988 he settled in Vienna. He escaped his draft for military service in 1992 by deserting him to New York City . Here he met the German DJ Hell and he dedicated himself to the production of electronic music for the first time. After his return he founded the Cheap Records label together with Erdem Tunakan in 1993 . Together with Tunakan he published under a variety of pseudonyms such as Sluts'n'Strings & 909 , Lazermusic , Love The Machines! , Restaurant tracks and showroom recordings . He retired from the label in 2003.

Pulsinger continues to work as a remixer and has provided reworking of pieces by musicians Ken Ishii (Circular Motion) , Beanfield (The Bean Breaks) , Tosca (Fuck Dub) , Jaydee (Plastic Dreams) , Die Sterne (theme shops) , Yoshinori Sunahara ( Journey Beyond the Stars) , Die Goldenen Zitronen (Just a little more) , Chicks on Speed (Mind Your Own Business) , Mense Reents (Dress Like an Albino) and Pet Shop Boys ( Flamboyant , with DJ Hell). He toured China in 2004 with his avant-garde project dp-S .

In 2013 he was the curator responsible for putting together the program for the Popfest in Vienna. In 2014 he was awarded the City of Vienna Prize for Music .
