Hilary Jeffery

Hilary Jeffery (* 1971 in Surbiton ) is a British improvisation musician ( trombone , electronics, composition ).

Live and act

Jeffery studied at Dartington College of Arts , the University of York , the Institute of Sonology and with James Fulkerson at the European Dance Development Center in Arnhem.

He then worked with various choreographers such as Aurora Corsano, Vania Gala, Mary O'Donnell, Jane Mason, Joao da Silva and Saburo Teshigawara in dance performances. As a trombonist, he has since played with Paul Dunmall , Hugh Davies , Keith Tippett , Catherine Christer Hennix and the Splitterorchester, among others . He belongs to the Zeitkratzer ensemble. He can also be heard on recordings by Hugh Davies, Germ , Earthling , Sand , the Band of Holy Joy , Jimi Tenor , The Meta Orchestra, Paul Dunmalls Moksha Big Band , The Barton Workshop and Apa Ini .

He presented the solo productions Solo Trombone & Electronics 1/2 ( FMR Records , 2003 and 2006 respectively). He also worked with the composer and electronics engineer Patrick Pulsinger . Since 2014 he has been playing with Robin Hayward and Elena Margarita Kakaliagou in the Ensemble Zinc & Copper , with whom he performed at the JazzFest Berlin in 2017 .
