FMR Records is an independent British recording company founded in 1972 by Trevor Taylor as Future Music Records in Rayleigh . It focuses on jazz and new improvisation music .

The music label publishes records by British improvisation musicians such as John Law , Howard Riley , Phil Wachsmann , Hugh Davies , Keith Tippett , Paul Dunmall , Trevor Watts , John Stevens , Phil Minton and Veryan Weston , but is also opposed to continental European improvisation musicians such as Frank Paul Schubert , Frode Gjerstad , Paul Lovens , Willi Kellers or the Canadian Michel Lambert . The label also looks after British jazz musicians such as Tim Garland and Dick Pearce . In the series V FMR Records is engaged in the re-release of out LPs in CD format - including there are key albums of the European free jazz and avant-garde jazz as John Taylor Think and break Again or Conflagration , Morning Glory and Westering Home of John Surman next Albums by Gordon Beck or Mike Osborne ( Outback ) have been made available again.

Some of the publications have a special focus on percussion , for example a joint production by Fredy Studer , Hamid Drake and Michael Zerang , the Kortrijk Percussion Project around the Belgian Dirk Wachtelaer or solo albums by the British gong player Steve Hubback; Trevor Taylor, who is a percussionist himself, was involved in some of these productions as a musician. In addition, the label has also published works by Olivier Messiaen himself (and Yvonne Loriod ) for the first time on CD.
