James Arthur "Art" Brooks (* 1892 in Guelph , Ontario ; † March 29, 1987 ) was a Canadian ice hockey goalkeeper who played for the Toronto Arenas in the National Hockey League during his active career between 1906 and 1918 .

Career

Brooks played in the Ontario Hockey Association and Western Pennsylvania Hockey League for many years between 1906 and 1913 . In the 1916/17 season, the goalkeeper stood four times for the Toronto Blueshirts in the National Hockey Association between the posts. Brooks then came to the Canadiens de Montréal via a dispersal draft , for whom he never played. Instead, he returned to Toronto for the 1917/18 season to play for the Toronto Arenas in the newly formed National Hockey League . He came there on four missions but was already dismissed when Hap Holmes was committed and took over his position. As a result, he was not part of the Arenas team that won the Stanley Cup at the end of the season . He then ended his career.
