history
The band came from Tyrol . Rekic and Loferer met in 2005 and decided in 2011 to perform together in the future. They named Antananarivo in Madagascar as the place where their duo was founded . After four live videos, they gave up their previous jobs and devoted themselves exclusively to music. In 2013 they appeared in the television program Mulatschag on the television station Okto . They have been on tour across Europe since 2014. They were often the support act, for example for the Truckfighters , in May 2014 for the UK tour of Courtney Love and in October / November 2015 for the Eagles of Death Metal . White Miles also performed with the Munich band Color Haze and Austrian formations.
The debut album job: genius, diagnose: madness was released in 2014 on CD and vinyl.
On November 13, 2015, they were engaged as the opening act for the Eagles of Death Metal in the Bataclan Theater in Paris . There was an Islamist terrorist attack that evening . At least 89 concert-goers were shot and many others were injured. The band had already left the Bataclan Theater through the back exit before the attack. However, a friend of the band was injured and a crew member was shot. In response to the attack, the Austrian band canceled planned concerts abroad.
On April 19, 2017, the band surprisingly announced their breakup. Hansjörg 'Lofi' Loferer cited the unexpected departure of guitarist and singer Medina Rekic, who wanted to devote herself to new projects, as the reason.
