Plíska Ridge ( Bulgarian Врах Плиска Wrach Pliska ) is an up to 681 m high mountain ridge on Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It rises east-northeast of the Willan Nunatak .
The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in 1995 in honor of the city of Plíska , the capital of the First Bulgarian Empire from 681 to 893. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee transferred the Bulgarian name to English that same year.
