Amadeus Awards 2018
The 18th presentation of the Amadeus Austrian Music Award took place on April 26, 2018 in the Volkstheater in Vienna . The nominations for the FM4 Award were announced on February 14, 2018, the nominations in the other categories on February 20, 2018. The award ceremony was streamed on ORF .
Nomination and election
Bilderbuch and Wanda each received five nominations, 5K HD , Pizzera & Jaus and RAF Camora were each nominated three times. Ina Regen , Leyya , Mavi Phoenix and the Nockalm Quintet each received two nominations . Bilderbuch (Live Act of the Year, Recording Studio Prize Best Sound) and Wanda (Song of the Year, Pop / Rock) were each awarded in two categories.
In order to avoid duplication, the general genre-independent categories artist, artist and band were no longer awarded additionally, but only within the genre categories. In addition, hits and folk music were grouped together in one category.
event
The event was moderated for the first time by Conchita . Besides Conchita, who performed a cover version of Falco's Rock Me Amadeus , Wanda, Pizzera & Jaus with an unplugged version of Mama , Tagdäumer with metronome , Ina Regen were among the artists who created the musical framework program at the award ceremony with Wia a Kind , Yasmo , Melissa Naschenweng with More Than You Know and Farewell Dear Ghost with Pink Noise .
The rapper Yasmo drew attention to the difficult situation women have in the music business with her song Girls Wanna Have Fun . She was supported on stage by a choir of artists, including Clara Luzia , Mieze Medusa , Die Mayerin , Ina Regen , Birgit Denk , Virginia Ernst and Sabine Stieger .

For the FM4 Award, five candidates were determined by online voting until February 19, 2018, with 20 candidates being available for selection. This was followed by a second round of voting with the five remaining finalists.
