Mieze Medusa (actually Doris Mitterbacher ; * 1975 in Schwetzingen , Germany ) is an Austrian author, slammer, rapper and editor.

biography

Mieze Medusa lived in Innsbruck , Gallneukirchen , London and Vienna . She is one of the big names in the Austrian hip-hop and poetry slam scene. Since 2004 she has organized and moderated various poetry slam formats such as B. the longest serving Viennese poetry slam "textstrom", the "KULTUM" poetry slam in Graz, as well as slams in various theaters, museums and cultural centers.

In 2002 she won the FM4 wording literature competition with her text "MussJa AllesInclusive Sein" and in 2007 she won the FM4 protest song contest together with tenderboy and Violetta Parisini and the track "Not my revolution" .

In 2008 her first novel "Free Snorkeling" was published by Milena Verlag. Since then regular publications: novels, anthologies, poetry slam texts and rap albums. Together with Markus Köhle and Nadja Bucher , she ran the Vienna reading stage "Dogma Chronik Arschtritt" from 2007 to 2012 , and since 2015 she has been part of the reading stage "Die Schleuder Gang". She also wrote for the free Viennese magazine "The Gap" and columns for the feminist pop culture magazine "an.schlag".

Since 2012 she and Yasmo have formed the poetry slam team MYLF (Mothers You'd Like to Flow with) .
