Jugo Ürdens (born November 14, 1996 in Skopje , Macedonia ; real name is Aleksandar Simonovski ) is an Austrian rapper and music producer of Macedonian- Serbian descent from Vienna.

Life

He is the son of a Macedonian father and a Serbian mother and came to Vienna at the age of seven, where he grew up near the Manner factory in Vienna's 16th district . He later attended a grammar school in the 1st district and after graduating from the Vienna University of Economics and Business , where he broke off his studies to devote himself entirely to music. Until 2009 he played soccer at SC Helfort 15 Young Stars.

According to his own statement, Jugo Ürdens wrote his first song when he was 16, but he is now glad that this song was never recorded.

In 2016 Jugo Ürdens released his first self-produced EP Ajde . In addition to the single DiesDas , it also contains the song Österreicher , which ironically deals with how he is now better treated as an Austrian citizen.

In 2017, Jugo Ürdens was granted Austrian citizenship , which is what his previously published song Österreicher is about.

In autumn 2018 he performed at the Donauinselfest , the Waves Vienna and the FM4 Frequency Festival . In 2018 his debut album YUGO was released on the music label Futuresfuture by the Upper Austrian rapper Gerard . Shortly thereafter, a tour with the German rapper RIN followed .

The optical trademark of Jugo Ürdens is his always polished bald head .

style

In many songs Jugo Ürdens ironically treats his life as a migrant in Austria. In contrast to other representatives of the German rap scene , however, he does not deal with the topics of violence, weapons or money, as he himself had no contact with them.
