Tagtraeumer are a five-piece Austrian pop band from Styria and Burgenland , who became known through their participation in Herz von Österreich .

Band history

The Burgenland singer and songwriter Thomas Schneider from Ollersdorf took part in the second season of the casting show The Big Chance as a student and was eliminated in the first of the three semi-finals at the end of 2012. A little later he met Kevin Lehr from Rohrbach an der Lafnitz and founded the band Tagträumer with him and three of his school friends . Together they tried again at a casting show and applied for Heart of Austria in spring 2014 . At the second of eight qualification shows they performed with the song Sinn written by Schneider and Lehr . In five of the nine federal states they got the majority of the voters and moved into the final. In the end, they finished fifth there.

Already after its appearance in the qualification, the song entered the top 20 of the Ö3 Austria Top 40 . After the finale and its appearance at the Danube Island Festival in Vienna, the song rose to number 7 in the second attempt and stayed in the charts for a total of 38 weeks. It was also awarded gold . On YouTube , her unplugged video received over one and a half million hits. They were also able to enter the charts in July 2014 with a second song.

Tagtraeumer was named Band of the Year at the Amadeus Awards 2015 . They were also nominated for Song of the Year, plus Schneider and Lehr as Songwriter of the Year (each for Sinn ). This made them one of the most frequently nominated performers for Austria's most important music award.

In January 2015 they released their third single, Tagträume, as a pre-release of their debut album. It became her second top ten hit. The album Alles ok ?! was published at the end of March and has been awarded gold.

The band sings her songs in German, singer Thomas Schneider makes use of a nationwide German -style Idiolekts that he himself as a high German called.

In November 2015 they went on their first tour, on which they played a total of 13 concerts in Germany and Austria.

In August 2017, the second album “Infinite One” was released with the hits “Infinite Equal”, “Arrows” and “Metronom”. The album went from zero to number 3 in the off. Austrian charts. In autumn 2017 the band went on tour through Austria, South Tyrol and Germany, the second part of which will take place in April 2018.

In 2018 they provided the soundtrack for an advertising campaign by Erste Bank .
