5 / 8erl in Ehr'n is one of Vienna native band . The group, founded in summer 2006, likes to describe their style as “Viennese Soul”. The two singers will perform the lyrics in Viennese language . The compositions borrow from Wienerlied , jazz and grooves from soul and blues . The special timbre of the band results from the instrumentation with double bass , acoustic guitar and Wurlitzer or accordion .

The debut album Es muss was wunderbaren was released in 2008. After the band had worked with David Müller von den Strottern as producer and recording technician in the studio in autumn 2009 and bassist and singer Hanibal Scheutz had founded the independent label Viennese Soulfood Records in 2010 . March 2010 with a concert at brut in Künstlerhaus their second album Here we go! (Guest musician including Netnakisum ). The pieces “Gspiast Di” and “Siasse Tschik” were chosen as video clips.

In 2012 the band released their third studio album, Gut Enough for the City , again on Viennese Soulfood Records . The album entered the Ö3 Austria Top 40 on March 23, 2012 at number 16 . In 2012 and 2013 5/8erl in Ehr'n each won the Amadeus Austrian Music Award in the Jazz / World / Blues category. Since it was founded, the band has given numerous concerts all over Austria, including at Popfest in Bavaria in 2012 and, at the invitation of the austrian cultural forum cairo , also at the Art Beats Festival 2012 in Egypt.

On January 27, 2014, due to the events surrounding the Vienna Academic Ball, a song entitled Academic Ball was released via Soundcloud . Once again nominated for the Amadeus Austrian Music Award, they played during the 2014 award ceremony in a line-up specially designed for this evening with the drummer Lukas Koenig ( Koenigleopold ), the Koehne Quartet and a twenty-member choir, including the musicians and bands Violetta Parisini , Fijuka , Willi Landl , Die Strottern , Garish , Schmieds Puls and fresh snow . Then the band, again with producer David Müller, recorded their fourth studio album Yes We Does . The song Der totale Sommerhit was chosen as the pre-release , which was also released via Soundcloud and offered as a free download for three days from July 1st. Yes We Does was presented in brut on October 8th and published across Austria on October 10th, 2014. On October 24, 2014, the fourth album entered the Ö3 Austria Top 40 at number 4. It was the highest chart entry in the band's history to date - followed by an Austria tour through all federal states. The song Alaba - How do you do? Was chosen as the first video release . via Youtube , directed by Arman T. Riahi . The song was ranked 59th in the FM4 annual charts in 2014. The band also worked with Martin Eberle and the Vorarlberg Jazz Orchestra.
