Martin Eberle (born February 26, 1981 in Dornbirn ) is an Austrian jazz and improvisation musician ( trumpet , composition ).

Live and act

From 2004 to 2006 Eberle completed a classical training as a trumpeter at the Vorarlberg State Conservatory . He played in several symphony orchestras such as the Vorarlberg Symphony Orchestra , Bern Symphony Orchestra , the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and Brass Stella Brass before he dedicated to Pro and to jazz and improvised music. Between 2004 and 2996 he deepened his knowledge by studying at the Swiss Jazz School . During this time he initiated the Vorarlberg Jazz Orchestra with Martin Franz in order to offer local musicians a platform. In 2006 he moved to Vienna, where he worked as a freelance musician and in 2010 completed his master's degree in cultural management at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna .

In 2009 Eberle founded the band kompost3 , with which several albums were created, and the Swiss-Austrian trio Rom | Schaerer | Eberle ( Please Don't Feed the Model , 2009). He also accompanies the duo “ Die Strottern ” and has joined the Vienna Jazz Workshop. He also worked with Uri Caine , Alegre Corrêa , Ana Paula da Silva, Peter Herbert , Lucas Niggli , Christian Mühlbacher , Colin Vallon , Demian Kappenstein, Lukas Kranzelbinder , Jon Sass , Christoph Cech , Gerd Hermann Ortler , Velvet Elevator and HK Gruber . He is also on recordings with Clemens Wenger , Fatima Spar , 5 / 8erl in Ehr'n , Schmieds Puls , Soap & Skin , Studio Dan , Maja Osojnik , Clemens Salesny Electric Band, Falb Fiction , the flow, Die Pilze, Flip Philipp & Ed Partyka Dectett, Hannes Löschel , Martin Philadelphy.

Prizes and awards

Eberle was multiple first prize winner in Austrian state and national competitions; 2010 German Record Critics' Award with Studio Dan ( Creatures & Other Stuff ); In 2012 he received the Ruth World Music Prize for “Die Strottern & Blech” ; In 2014 he was awarded Kompost 3 with the Bremen Jazz Prize and the BAWAG PSK Next Generation Jazz Award.
