In 2008 she released her first EP including a remix by Fennesz . After just a few concert appearances, Plaschg was quickly considered a “child prodigy”. Soap & Skin's first full album was released under the title Lovetune for Vacuum in March 2009. Music critics and the media saw her early on as the “greatest hope of Austrian pop music”.

The album entered the charts in Austria, Germany, Belgium and France. For Lovetune for Vacuum she was awarded the European Border Breakers Award 2010 from the European Commission. At the Amadeus Austrian Music Awards 2009 she won in the category "Alternative / Rock".

Appearances with John Cale and Patti Smith followed .

In 2011 she created the sound for the exhibition made to measure by the fashion designer Petar Petrov in the Kunsthalle Wien . In February 2019, Plaschg withdrew her participation in the Amadeus Austrian Music Award , as she had been nominated in the first album of the year category together with the Austrian singer and musician Andreas Gabalier . She justified her rejection with her criticism of Gabalier, "who knows how to commercialize his reactionary, nationalist , chauvinist and sexist concept of life and finds approval here".
