action
Jesse kills Gale in his apartment with a headshot . Immediately after the crime, Victor picks up Jesse and takes him to the laboratory, where Walter is already being held. Gus then kills in front of the two Victor who was seen at the crime scene. Jesse is traumatized by the events and tries to distract himself with drugs and parties in his house. Afraid of becoming Gus' next victim, Walter considers getting ahead of him and killing him, for which he buys a revolver with a filmed serial number, but is initially not given the opportunity.
When Hank, who is inactive due to his injury and is doing physiotherapy , receives more information about Gale's murder, he continues his own investigation outside the DEA and finds clues that lead him to Gus. Walter then helps Hank with his investigation to dispel suspicions that Gus is the wanted drug lord. Walter and Skyler buy the car wash with Saul's help in order to be able to do money laundering there. In order to explain to their relatives the purchase of the car wash, they pretend that Walter fell victim to gambling addiction , in which he developed a system for blackjack and won a lot of money with it. Meanwhile, Mike (on Gus's instructions) increasingly uses Jesse to get him back on his feet. As a result, Jesse is gradually returning to a regular life, but is also becoming increasingly estranged from Walter. Walter asks Jesse to kill Gus, as he has more contact with Gus. However, Jesse has no suitable options for this.
When the Mexican cartel threatens Gus, Jesse is supposed to manufacture methamphetamine in a cartel laboratory in Mexico and teach Walter's procedure to the chemists. However, Gus can poison Don Eladio and most of the cartel members in one fell swoop and flee with Mike and Jesse. The break-up of the cartel is late retaliation for the assassination of his partner Max in the 1990s. Since Gus has seen that Jesse is able to cook methamphetamine on her own, he suggests that Jesse could actually take over the lab without Walter. Jesse doesn't want that, however, because it would surely result in Walter's death. Meanwhile, Hank has suspected that the main supply center of the Los Pollos Hermanos fast food chain is acting as a drug transshipment point . In his investigation, the laundry, in which the laboratory is located, comes into his focus. Walter, who is supposed to drive Hank to the laundry, then panic provokes a car accident.
Meanwhile, Skyler learns that her former boss, Ted, is undergoing a tax audit. Since Ted has forged the books with her knowledge for the purpose of tax evasion for the benefit of his employees, she fears that this could establish a connection to her and the car wash. She tries to convince Ted to pay his debt. However, since he is de facto insolvent, she takes large chunks of Walter's money and arranges a fake inheritance through Saul, with which Ted should pay his debts to the tax office. Instead, Ted plans to use the money to restart his insolvent company. Forced by Saul's henchmen Huell and Kuby, he finally signs a check for the tax office, but seriously injures his cervical spine while trying to escape from the two.
Because Jesse is now able to cook methamphetamine on his own and Walter has not been able to stop Hank from his investigation, Walter is fired by Gus. Gus also threatens to kill his family if he interferes in his business. Walter then plans to go into hiding, but due to Skyler's withdrawal of funds for Ted, he no longer has the necessary cash to pay Saul's specialists for such cases. Instead, he brings his family to safety with Hank, who is being guarded by the DEA due to a threat. Hank suggests checking the laundry more closely. However, the DEA finds nothing.
When Brock, the son of Jesse's friend Andrea, is suddenly admitted to the hospital with symptoms of poisoning and Jesse discovers that the ricin with which he was supposed to kill Gus has disappeared, he suspects a poison attack by Walter, looks for him and threatens him with a gun . Walter can direct the suspicion on Gus. Now Jesse is finally ready to participate in the killing of Gus. Jesse lures Gus to the hospital on an excuse so that Walter can plant a remote-controlled bomb on Gus's parked car. Jesse tells Gus at the meeting that Brock has been poisoned. On the way back, however, Gus does not get into the car that Walter has prepared.
Finally, Walter persuades the paralyzed Hector Salamanca to take revenge for Gus's extermination of the Salamanca family with a suicide attack. After apparently making a statement to the DEA, Hector is visited as intended by Gus and Tire at the nursing home who want to get him out of the way. But Hector triggers Walter's bomb, which is attached to the wheelchair, causing him to die with Gus and Tire. After the successful attack, Walter and Jesse set fire to the meth lab. On the roof of the hospital, Jesse tells that Brock is on the mend and was not poisoned by ricin, but by lilies of the valley . Jesse suspects that the boy ate them out of ignorance. The last picture of the fourth season shows a pot of lilies of the valley, which is on the house terrace of the White family.
