Betsy Ann Brandt (born March 14, 1973 in Bay City , Michigan ) is an American actress .

Career

Betsy Brandt grew up in Michigan. She graduated from Western High School in Auburn , Michigan. She then studied acting at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign , Harvard University and finally at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow , Scotland . She then played theater at the Geffen Playhouse , with the South Coast Repertory and the San Jose Repertory Theater . She made her screen debut in 2001 in the comedy Memphis Bound ... and Gagged, directed by Tamar Halpern . Since then she has starred in several television series such as Amy Just in Case , Without a Trace and Boston Legal . Her best-known role is that of Marie Schrader in the television series Breaking Bad , which she embodied from 2008 to 2013. Since 2015 she has played Heather Hughes in the CBS sitcom Life in Pieces .

Brandt is married and lives in Los Angeles with their two children .
