Lists on the subject

The Ruger LCR ( L ightweight C ompact R evolver) is a compact revolver . It was announced by the Ruger company in 2009 and has been in series production since 2010.

To achieve this compactness, Ruger uses special materials: the lower part including the trigger guard and closed back section (the complete trigger unit was integrated into the handle) is made of polymer plastic (171 grams), the drum frame is made of high-strength aircraft aluminum (87 grams) and the drum is rust-resistant Steel with a hard material coating (130 grams). This makes it almost 50% lighter than the steel SP-101 (KSP-321XL) . As one of the few double-action-only systems (DAO) , it has a continuous trigger weight of only 4420 grams thanks to the patented "Friction Reducing Cam" (friction-reduced latch engagement).
