AXN
AXN is a pay TV broadcaster from Sony Pictures Entertainment , which mainly broadcasts feature films and series, but also reality formats and lifestyle programs. AXN went on air for the first time on September 21, 1998, and since then over 30 localized branches have been founded worldwide. The German version was launched on November 1st, 2004.

Sony AXN reaches 5.9 million subscriber households in Germany, Austria and Switzerland via satellite ( Sky , Austriasat), cable ( Vodafone Kabel Deutschland , Unitymedia , Kabelkiosk , Liwest , Cablecom ) and IPTV ( Entertain , Swisscom , Sunrise, A1 Telekom ) and online streaming ( Magine TV ).
An HD simulcast version has been available since February 1, 2011 at Deutsche Telekom via the Entertain platform. An activation via cable kiosk took place on June 26, 2012, followed by Sky on October 4, 2012 and Kabel Deutschland on October 15.
On September 8, 2015, Sony Pictures Television announced that AXN Germany will also adopt the new, globally uniform design and station logo. The conversion and takeover will take place on October 9, 2015.
On October 24, 2016, the distribution for AXN via Sky in Germany and Austria was discontinued because no agreement could be reached between Sony and Sky.
AXN was renamed Sony AXN on October 17, 2019 and at the same time got a new station logo.
