Rush is an Australian drama series produced by Southern Star and aired from September 2, 2008 to November 17, 2011 on Network Ten , Australia . It consists of four seasons and 70 episodes. The action takes place in Melbourne , Victoria and revolves around a tactical special unit that is used to prevent crimes, not to investigate them.
action
Rush follows the lives of the members of the renowned Tactical Response Team (TR) based on the real Police Critical Incident Response Team from Victoria. It is a very mobile unit that covers the operational gaps between the general tasks of the police and the tasks of the SWAT team. The team is called out to engage in violent incidents such as carjacking , suicide, and armed crime. The series focuses on the TR officers, their reconnaissance specialist Leon Broznic and the head of the TR administration, Inspector Kerry Vincent.
Most of the episodes contain at least one main storyline and one or two minor subplots, in which the characters' private lives are also portrayed. Usually the team is split into two vehicles, each of which works on its own storyline and only meets during the course of the episode.
production
The pilot episode was filmed under the working title Rapid Response , in 2004 and is based on a script from the earlier Australian police series Police Rescue . The pilot also featured a few characters and actors who later didn't appear on the series, including Matthew Le Nevez , Libby Tanner, and Corinne Grant . The series was initially rejected, but years later it entered production as Network Ten's imported series were affected by the 2007-2008 Writers Guild of America strike . The series is filmed in Victoria . Jolene Anderson joined the cast in season two. A third season was ordered by Network Ten on September 25, 2009.
On November 12, 2010, production of a fourth season of thirteen episodes was confirmed. As it became known at the end of October 2011, Network Ten had designed the series for only four seasons from the start, so that it has now ended after the fourth season.
occupation
The series was set to music at SDI Media Germany. Martin Westphal wrote the dialogue books for the first season, and Constantin von Jascheroff took over this task from the second season. The latter also directed the dialogue together with his parents Mario and Juana .
