Antony Starr (born October 25, 1975 ) is a New Zealand actor . In his home country he is best known for his double role in the television series Outrageous Fortune . From 2013 to 2016, Starr played the lead role in Banshee - Small Town. Big Secrets. that ran on the Cinemax channel .

Career

Antony Starr began his acting career in 1995 with a small role in the New Zealand soap opera Shortland Street . In 1995 and 1996 he had guest roles in Xena - The Warrior Princess . In 2001 he took on the role of Todd Van der Velter in the television series Mercy Peak , which he played in all three seasons.

That same year, Starr returned to Shortland Street for a few weeks , where he played Waverley Harrison's brother . He then took on roles in Hard Out , Street Legal and Serial Killers . In 2004 he starred in the US adventure comedy Trouble without a paddle . In the same year he took on a role in the critically acclaimed film When the Sea Disappeared . In 2005 he starred with Anthony Hopkins in the film With Heart and Hand . From 2005 to 2010 Starr also appeared in the television series Outrageous Fortune as the twins Van West / Jethro West. In 2011 he played the role of Senior Sergeant Charlie Lewis in the fourth (and final) season of the Australian police series Rush .

In the television series Banshee - Small Town. Big Secrets. Starr took on the lead role as a master thief, released from prison after 15 years, who assumes the identity of the designated sheriff of the (fictional) village of Banshee in the Amish country of Pennsylvania .
