David Slade

David Slade (born September 26, 1969 ) is a British film director and former journalist.

Life

Slade started his artistic career with the realization of commercials and music videos. In this role he staged countless works for performers such as Aphex Twin (“Donkey Rhubarb”), Rob Dougan (“Clubbed to Death”), Stone Temple Pilots (“Sour Girl”), Tori Amos (“Strange Little Girl)”, and others four works for Muse ("Hyper Music", "Feeling Good", "Bliss", and "New Born"), which have also received several awards.

In the mid-2000s he expanded his field of activity and filmed a full-length feature film for the first time for the US film production company Lions Gate Films , the psychological thriller Hard Candy , which premiered in January 2005 at the Sundance Film Festival . His directorial debut has been nominated for several national and international awards. In 2007, the vampire film 30 Days of Night , a comic adaptation based on a work by Steve Niles and Ben Templesmith , was his second feature film with Josh Hartnett and Melissa George in the leading roles.

His next directorial work was the third part of the Twilight saga, Eclipse - Bite zum Abendrot ; which appeared in June 2010. He then directed Breaking Bad for the first time in an episode of a television series. In March 2012, NBC announced that he would be directing the pilot of Hannibal's adaptation of the series . On May 8, 2012, Wayfare Entertainment announced that Slade would direct the action thriller Villain .
