Melissa George
Melissa Suzanne George (born August 6, 1976 in Perth , Western Australia ) is an Australian actress who has appeared in both American and Australian films and television series .
Life
Career
Before she got her first role in the Australian television series Home and Away (participation 1993-1996), she was Australian master in roller skating . Since moving to Los Angeles , she played roles in American films and TV series co-produced by the United States, initially mainly supporting roles, but rarely did she work in Australian productions.
George had supporting roles in the films Dark City (1998), The Limey (1999), Mulholland Drive - Straße der Finsternis (2001) and Down with Love - To the devil with love! (2003). Conor the Celt , a 1997 fantasy series in which she played a supporting role, was canceled after just 13 episodes. In the fifth season of Grey's Anatomy , she got a minor part as a former assistant doctor in 2008. In 2010 she played the widow of a murdered multimillionaire in three episodes of the Lie to Me series .
In 2001 she starred as cheerleader Cleo Miller in the high school comedy Sugar & Spice . From 2003 to 2004 she starred in the third season of the American spy and action television series Alias - The Agent a leading role as the corrupt double agent Lauren Reed . For the horror thriller remake The Amityville Horror - A True Story , she was cast in 2005 in the role of wife and mother Kathy Lutz , who has to fear for her life in the face of her demon-possessed husband ( Ryan Reynolds ). In the same year she was seen in the psychological thriller Derailed at the side of Clive Owen and Jennifer Aniston as the betrayed wife Deanna Schine . In 2006 she fell into the hands of a Brazilian organ dealer ring as a tourist Pru Stagler in John Stockwell's horror film Turistas and a year later in another horror film ( 30 Days of Night ) she was Stella Oleson , the wife of a small town sheriff ( Josh Hartnett ), who was turned into a vampire. Also in 2007 she helped as Helen Westcott in the brutal thriller WΔZ - What torments do you bear? her boyfriend ( Stellan Skarsgård ) solving gruesome murders.
In 2008, George played one of the leading roles in the first season of the drama series In Treatment - The Therapist as a doctor Laura , who falls in love with her psychotherapist ( Gabriel Byrne ). She was nominated for a Golden Globe for her acting performance . With her main role of mother Jess , who gets caught in a time warp on a ghost ship in the British-Australian horror film Triangle (2009), she earned critical acclaim. In 2011 she was in the British survival thriller A Lonely Place to Die - Death Trap Highlands in front of the camera, in the film set in the Scottish Highlands she played Alison.
Personal
From 2000 to 2011 Melissa George was married to a Chilean businessman. She currently lives in Paris with her boyfriend Jean-David Blanc . The two have two sons (* 2014, * 2015).

- At the 37th Annual TV Week Logie Awards in 1995, she won the Silver Logie for "Most Popular Actress" for her appearance in Home and Away .
- She also won the Cinescape Genre Face of the Future award - Best Woman for her role in Alias - The Agent .
