action

Part 1

At the beginning of the fifth season, Walter White is busy getting rid of all the evidence that could connect him to the murder of Gus Fring, including a. the materials used to make the pipe bomb and the lilies of the valley he'd used to poison Brock to blame Jesse Pinkman on Gus Fring. Mike Ehrmantraut lets himself be persuaded to reopen the drug business together with Walter and Jesse. His connections and knowledge of the Gus cartel will help; At the same time, he feels it is his duty to pay off the imprisoned former accomplices, who as confessors represent a danger, and thus to calm them down. Gus' laptop, on which video recordings from the “superlab” were suspected, can be destroyed in front of the police despite being kept in an evidence chamber . Lydia Rodarte-Quayle, Head of Logistics at Madrigal Electromotive GmbH , only hesitantly agrees to continue to deliver the raw material for the production of methamphetamine, which she manages through the company's sales channels. Saul Goodman proposes several new production sites; Finally, the pest control company Vamonos Pest is selected . This fumigates pests from family houses, whereby the houses are left for a certain period of time by their residents and packed like a tent. The abandoned houses are used for methamphetamine production with the help of a mobile laboratory.

Skyler White believes that despite Gus' death, Walter is still in danger. Because of her fear for herself and her children, she asks her sister Marie to take them in. As a reason, she puts forward relationship problems between herself and Walter. Her plan is to wait resignedly for Walter's cancer to return.

Walter, Jesse and Mike get the methylamine used to produce methamphetamine by robbing a freight train with the help of the Vamonos Pest team and replacing the removed part of this chemical in the tank car with water. Todd, one of the Vamonos plague workers, shoots a child who happens to appear at the crime scene. Due to various circumstances, Jesse and Mike decide to get out of the methamphetamine business entirely. Both want to sell their share of the stolen methylamine for $ 5 million each to the methamphetamine drug lord Declan from Phoenix . However, for monopoly reasons, Declan demands all of the stolen methylamine. This enables Walter to thwart Jesse and Mike's sales plan by refusing to sell his stake. Due to his reputation as a Heisenberg, he succeeds in instead making a deal with Declan that provides for a decent settlement for Mike. Although Walter refuses to pay Jesse his share, Jesse gets out regardless of his financial loss. Todd is moving to Jesse's position as assistant cook.

A lawyer hired by Mike, who pays the relatives of the imprisoned confidants of Gu's former drug cartel through safe deposit boxes, is arrested. This interrupts the flow of money in such a way that the detainees are no longer incentivized to remain silent, which could be dangerous for Walter.

As the DEA's investigative focus becomes more and more focused on Mike, Mike decides to go into hiding forever. This also means that he will make no further efforts to provide the relatives of the detainees with money or to silence them in any other way. After Mike refuses to reveal the names of those who have been arrested, Walter shoots him.

Walter finally learns the names of the prisoners in question from Lydia and instructs Todd's uncle Jack to have those who know about it murdered almost simultaneously through his connections in the prisons. With the help of Lydia, the methamphetamine is exported to the Czech Republic via the Madrigal company. Walter accumulates an extraordinarily large amount of cash, which he always passes on to Skyler, who still does the money laundering for him via the car wash . Eventually Jesse got his $ 5 million stake in the methylamine robbery and Walter got out of the drug business for good.

Months later, the White family lives together again under one roof. Everything seems to be going smoothly - until Hank, while visiting the toilet, by chance finds the book Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman with a dedication by Gale Boetticher. Hank now recognizes from this index that Walter must be Heisenberg.

Already at the beginning of the fifth season it was shown in the form of a preview how Walter illegally bought an M60 in a diner on his 52nd birthday .

Part 2

Hank re-investigates the Fring case. There is a confrontation between Walter and Hank, in which neither Hank succeeds in getting Walter to give up nor Walter in calming down Hank. Hank, who has only an indication of Walter's guilt but no evidence or witnesses, turns to Skyler. But since she cooperates with Walter, she refuses to testify to Hank. Meanwhile, Walter buries his money in the remote desert and notes down the GPS coordinates of the hiding place in the form of a lottery ticket.

In order to end Hank's investigation and to force a "truce" within the family, Walter shoots a confession video. Instead of an actual confession, Walter depicts Hank as the actual head (Heisenberg) of the drug operation and himself as the coerced henchman. Walter and Skyler give Hank and Marie a data carrier with this video at a neutral location. However, even this threat does not dissuade Hank from his goal of bringing down Walter.

Lydia arranges the murder of the drug lord Declan and his men by Todd and the " Aryan Brotherhood " gang of his uncle Jack. This gang now takes over the drug production; Todd uses his cooking skills, which he acquired as Walter's assistant, but does not reach the degree of purity or the blue color.

Jesse, suffering from depression, throws bundles of his banknotes out of the moving car in the front gardens of a poor neighborhood. After his off-road trip ends, he is taken into police custody and interrogated. During the interrogation, however, Jesse remains silent. Hank, who is still investigating in secret before the DEA, takes the opportunity to share his knowledge of Walter in a one-on-one conversation with Jesse and to offer a leniency program that Jesse does not go into. Eventually Jesse's attorney Saul arrives at the interrogation room and takes Jesse away. Jesse now wants to go into hiding and start a new life elsewhere with the help of Saul's relationships. By chance he realizes that Walter is responsible for Brock's poisoning. He then tries to set Walter's house on fire, but is stopped by Hank.

Hank is able to convince Jesse to work together against Walter to obtain his arrest. Jesse is supposed to testify as a witness against Walter and makes a confession on video to Hank and Steven Gomez, whom Hank has taken into confidence, to the exclusion of the DEA. Meanwhile, Walter and his family move into a hotel under a pretext and arrange a meeting with Jesse by phone. The meeting under the supervision of Hank and Steven does not take place because Jesse smells a trap set by Walter at the meeting point. Instead, Jesse calls Walter from a phone booth and threatens him. Walter then assigns Todd's uncle Jack and his gang to murder Jesse. In return, Walt will cook methamphetamine one last time.

Saul Goodman's henchman Huell, who helped Walter secure the cash, is tricked into revealing information about Walter's fortune by Hank and Steven Gomez with a posed photo of the allegedly dead Jesse. However, only Walter knows the exact hiding place. With the information he received from Huell, Hank can get Jesse to call Walter and plausibly claim that he has found the hiding place for the money and that he now wants to burn it. Walter then drives to the hiding place in a panic, and Hank follows him there. When Walter arrives at the hiding place and the ruse becomes obvious, he desperately calls Jack for help, gives him the coordinates he has written down, but immediately stops the action when he recognizes Hank in the car in pursuit. Hank as a family member is taboo for him, which is why he sees no other option than to face. Walter can be arrested by Hank, which he immediately tells Marie by phone. Jack's gang shows up anyway, and an exchange of fire ensues in which Gomez dies and Hank is shot. Walter tries to convince Jack to let Hank live and offers all of his money for it. Jack shoots Hank anyway, whereupon Walter collapses. Based on Walter's exact coordinates, Jack suspects that his money is buried there, and has it excavated. One of the seven barrels, which contains around 11 million US dollars in cash, is given to Walter. He discovers Jesse under his car and demands that the gang kill him as agreed. After Todd's objection that Jesse could provide important information about the state of knowledge of the police before his death, the latter is initially left alive with Walter's consent and, in parting, confronted with his admission that he could have prevented Jane's death. Todd's rescue of Jesse is not altruistic, as he then holds him prisoner and uses him, as requested by Lydia, to whom he feels drawn, to improve the quality of methamphetamine production.

Meanwhile, Marie, who knows Jesse's confession, clarifies Skyler and Walter Jr. about the alleged arrest of Walter. In exchange for cooperation, Marie offers to protect Skyler from prosecution. When Walter Skyler, who has returned to his house, is surprised by his presence and tries to persuade them to flee, the situation escalates when she concludes that Hank is dead. This is also heard by Walter Junior, who calls the police after a scuffle in which Skyler injured Walter with a kitchen knife. During his subsequent escape, Walter kidnaps their daughter Holly, who, however, on the way at a rest stop where Walter is changing her diapers, calls crying for her mother, whereupon Walter contacts Skyler on his mobile phone. While the police present recorded the phone call, those present, including Marie, were assured that Hank is dead. In tears, Walter berates his wife on the phone and relieves her by stressing that he is solely responsible for the illegal business and that Skyler could possibly suffer the same fate as Hank if she got in his way. After the phone call ended, he destroyed his mobile phone - despite his wife's statements to the contrary, he had to assume that the conversation was being monitored - and left his daughter in a fire station .

Meanwhile, Jesse is held in the shelter of Jack's gang and begins to cook meth for her there. To put him under pressure so that he can do the work conscientiously and not escape, Jesse is permanently chained and receives a photo of Andrea and Brock. Nevertheless, he decides to flee. He opens the handcuffs with the help of a paper clip that was attached to the photo and manages to escape from his cell, but is snatched by the gangway at the property fence. Jesse's request to shoot him because he refuses to continue cooking meth is rejected by the gang. Instead, he has to watch helplessly as Todd lures Andrea out of her house and kills her from behind with a head shot. With the reference to Brock, Jesse complies and continues the work.

With the help of Saul's relationships, Walter goes into hiding and is billeted with a new identity in a lonely hut in New Hampshire . Several months pass in solitude and in compliance with a contact ban. Walter does not manage to give his remaining fortune directly to his son. Inspired by a television interview, he sets out to use a bluff to force Elliott and Gretchen to give his money to Walter Jr. on his 18th birthday, without letting him know that it is from his father.

Walter procures the ricin hidden behind a socket cover from his abandoned house, with which he poisons Lydia. He mounts the M60 machine gun on a self-made swivel mechanism that is hidden in the trunk of his car and is linked to the opening mechanism of the trunk lid. He says goodbye to Skyler and tells her the place where the bodies of Hank and Gomez are buried. She should exchange this information for impunity with the DEA.

Prepared in this way, Walter drives to Jack's gang's hideout, most of which he decimates with the machine gun. He can save Jesse, but is hit himself in the process. Jesse kills Todd with his handcuffs, while Walter shoots the seriously injured Jack, in the same way as this Hank shot. Walter asks Jesse to shoot him, which Jesse refuses. Lydia's call on Todd's phone is answered by Walter, who tells her he poisoned her. Jesse escapes while Walter makes his way to the nearby laboratory, where he succumbs to his injury just before the police find him.
