Drug cartel
Drug cartels ( drug syndicates ; derogatory, from American English ) are rings of drug dealers who illegally sell drugs on a large scale and usually have mafia- like structures. Often, however, they are not actual cartels , that is, associations of competitors, but rather “normal” hierarchically structured criminal organizations . Most drug cartels are active in Central and South America .
