Anna Gunn (born August 11, 1968 in Cleveland ) is an American actress and voice actress .

Life

Gunn was born in Cleveland, Ohio, but moved early to Santa Fe, New Mexico , where she grew up. She is the daughter of interior designer Sharon Gunn and real estate agent Clemens Earl Gunn Jr. She graduated from Santa Fe Preparatory School in 1986. She attended Northwestern University , where she studied drama and graduated in 1990. In the fall of 1988, Gunn studied for a semester at the British American Drama Academy. After graduation, she moved to Laurel Canyon, Los Angeles , where she shared a house with Pamela Adlon .

Gunn had her first appearance as a television actress in 1992 in an episode of the series Back to the Past . This was followed by guest appearances in various series, including in Seinfeld , Six Feet Under - Always dies and Boston Legal . Anna Gunn is best known in the German-speaking world for her roles as ADA Jean Ward in Practice - The Lawyers , Martha Bullock in Deadwood and Skyler White in Breaking Bad . For this role she received two Emmy TV awards .

Gunn also works as a voice actress. In the computer game series Legacy of Kain , she lent her voice to the character Ariel .

Gunn was married to Scottish actor and real estate agent Alastair Duncan from 1990 to 2009. They have two daughters together.
