Steven Bauer
Steven Bauer (actually Esteban Ernesto Echevarria ; born December 2, 1956 in Havana , Cuba ) is an American actor . He gained fame for his role as Manny Ribera in the 1983 film Scarface .
Life
Bauer came to the USA with his family in 1963 as a toddler ; He corrected his original career aspiration as a musician in college. In the series of the television station PBS Que pasa USA , he played the first role as an actor, still under his birth name. After moving to the West Coast, he accepted offers for guest roles on television shows; In 1980 the role of “Pvt. Ignacio Carmona ”in the TV version of From here to Eternity .
In the following years, however, he was not always happy with his choice of roles. Due to his appearance, he was often cast as an opaque figure, but also several times in detective series. The miniseries Drug Wars , which was awarded an Emmy , had the greatest critical success .
From 1981 to 1989 he was married to actress Melanie Griffith . He has a son with her: Alexander Griffith Bauer (born 1985)
