Laurence Rupp

Laurence Rupp (born August 10, 1987 in Vienna , Austria ) is an Austrian theater and film actor . He belonged to the ensemble of the Vienna Burgtheater and is now a member of the Berliner Ensemble .

Life

Laurence Rupp has been in front of the camera since he was a child. At a casting for Inspector Rex in 1999, the then almost twelve-year-old Rupp caught the eye and was committed to the episode Terrible Truth . After that, Rupp devoted himself to his school education and only occasionally appeared in small roles in front of the camera, including 2001 in Tom and the Beaver Gang .

Shortly after graduating from high school in 2006, the director Andreas Prochaska engaged him for the horror film In 3 Days You're Dead . The Austrian soap opera Mitten im 8en , in which Rupp participated in 2007, was canceled after 56 episodes due to falling audience ratings. In the same year he also played in the Swiss film comedy Tell by Mike Eschmann . For the two-part thriller The Last Judgment , Rupp stood in front of the camera in 2008 together with Tobias Moretti , whose son he played, under the direction of Urs Egger .

From 2010 on, Rupp studied acting at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna . Since September 2013 he has been a member of the Vienna Burgtheater ensemble . From the 2017/2018 season he moved to the Berliner Ensemble under the direction of Oliver Reese .

On November 12th, 2007 his first son was born with the Austrian actress Sabrina Reiter . The couple separated after giving birth.

His second son, the German actress Paula Schramm , was born in March 2015 .

For Cops , he was awarded the Austrian Film Prize 2019 in the category Best Male Leading Role .
