Miroslava Svolikova

Miroslava Svolikova also Miru Svolikova (* 1986 in Vienna ) is an Austrian author, playwright and visual artist.

The family emigrated from what was then Czechoslovakia in the 1980s . Svolikova grew up in Styria and Vienna and attended an English grammar school in Vienna. She studied philosophy in Vienna and Paris and fine arts at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna . Exhibitions in Austria, Germany and Japan.

From 2010 she published poetry and prose in literary magazines and anthologies. From 2016 to 2018 Svolikova attended the course Forum Text for scenic writing at the Dramaforum of uniT Graz.

In 2015 Svolikova received the Retzhofer Dramapreis for the crouching and an associated premiere in the vestibule of the Burgtheater Vienna. In 2016, her piece design won the Hans Gratzer scholarship from the Schauspielhaus Wien and led to the commission for This wall summarizes itself and the star has spoken, the star has also said something. Both pieces were invited as guest performances at the Autorentheatertage 2017 of the Deutsches Theater Berlin, where Svolikova received the Hermann Sudermann Prize. Europa flees nach europa opened the following year in a production by the Burgtheater Vienna as one of three award-winning plays at the 2018 Autorentheatertage at the Deutsches Theater Berlin. In the same year, the Austrian Theater Alliance was awarded the Author's Prize for The Speaker and the Prompt.

Her pieces have been awarded various prizes and grants and have been translated into several languages.
