Özlem Özgül Dündar (* 1983 in Solingen ) is a German author and translator .

life and work

Özlem Özgül Dündar studied literature and philosophy in Wuppertal . During her studies she had several stays abroad in Ireland, Turkey and Paris. In 2008 and 2009 she worked as a freelancer for the magazine Federwelt . To develop her literary writing, she took part in the Darmstadt text workshop under Kurt Drawert from 2010 to 2011 . Since October 2014 she has been studying at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig .

Özlem Özgül Dündar translates poetry from Turkish, there are two volumes she has translated. Her own works have so far been published in literary magazines (e.g., Also , Dreischneuss , Zeichen & Wunder ) and anthologies. Özlem Özgül Dündar mainly writes poetry and drama . Özlem Özgül Dündar performs her scenic pieces with her artistic collectives GID, Kaltsignal and Kanak Attak Leipzig . Dündar has received several scholarships and award nominations. In 2015 she was awarded the Wolfgang Weyrauch Prize and the Retzhofer Dramapreis . 2018 was Özlem Dündar Özgül with their text and I burn on a proposal from Insa Wilke to the German Literature Days of Klagenfurt invited, where they face the Kelag was awarded prize.
